I created this thing to keep people updated with what's going on in the mountains here in Summit Park.

The White Smoke
Heading up early for the new snow. With over 3' in the last 72hrs - we will have a good day. Mountain should be fairly quite as Sundance is going off this week as well. Pictures to be posted later today. - Video as well is possible, as I'm taking the HD VR Helmet Cam...

Snow at last
With the last month being rather dry for the mountains here, we are starting to see snow at last. Overnight - the area averaged 10+ inches with heavy snow still falling out the window from the home office. Snow is to continue for the next 3-4 days. The weekend is already starting to look good. Lots of snow to move from the driveway and deck.

HAITI
Well, all know of the natural disaster. I feel bad for the country and cities that where hit by this earthquake. While we send money through our phones, apypal and banks (as well as to the other options available) we are also sending resources - the BEST option at this time.
While we cant get enough people and equipment over there fast enough, we are trying. All are trying. The biggest issue I see is the lack of machinery to remove the rubble and start true efforts of getting access to closed areas. Rescue efforts will be limited (harsh I know) due to the time and magnitude of this disaster.
With food and water on the way, we can only hope for disbursement of these life saving items.
Health care also needs to be established at the greatest level to care for those wounded and in dire straights.
This will take weeks to establish full electricity and phone lines in and out. If I could - I would go and spend at least a month in support of the effort.
Peace and thoughts to all affected.

Sleep
Another night of little sleep. Up by 4am for no reason. Should I start back on the Ambien? Not sure, as last time I was on for almost 2 years - quitting was a pain. I don't feel tired, so no worries there. I will plan a nap later this morning after my workout maybe. The weather is also looking good to hit the river and get some fishing in. Maybe ski today? Looks like a storm is heading this way - yet only 4-6 inches called for over the next 3 days.

Ski Day
A great day on the mountain. The snow was enough to keep it relatively soft for most of the day. Jack had a great day, as did I. Time to get into the hot tub and have a cold beer - followed by football and dinner with friends.
Ski day
Woke up to blue skies today. It is to be warm (maybe 30) and skiing is on the to-do list today. Woke up early again (4:15am) - why? Need to clean the driveway, as we had snow last night at the house.
